Former Governors Chime, Amechi, Kwankwaso, Shema Face ICPC Probe

Following petitions to ICPC, the anti corruption agency this week began the probe of four former state governors over allegations of corruption against them.

The former governors now under ICPC search light are Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, Rotimi Amechi of Rivers State, Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State.

Sources at ICPC said that four teams departed Abuja on Monday for the affected states to commence investigations. The allegations are said to border on dubious contract awards and award of contracts to relatives and cronies of the former governors.

The anti corruption agencies have been working with renewed vigor since the coming to power of President Muhammadu Buhari.
