Akpabio Flies Abroad After Car Crash

In the aftermath of Monday's collision with an American embassy van at the Bolingo Junction, Abuja, former governor of Akwa Ibom State and Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio was on Tuesday flown out of the country in a private jet.

Akpabio was seen boarding a private jet with some of his aides at the general aviation terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja around 12.40 pm. He boarded the aircraft on his own and did not look sick.

It was not confirmed whether the trip is for medical reasons or a continuation of his earlier trip to see his family abroad which was aborted by the car crash. Akpabio had been hurrying to the airport on Monday morning when he crashed into a USA embassy van after disobeying the traffic light.

He reportedly sustained injuries in the chest area and was treated at the National Hospital, Abuja.
