6 Nigerian Girls Rescued From Prostitution In B'Faso

Six Nigerian girls who were tricked into a journey to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso by a human trafficker simply identified as Balikis are by now, thanking their lucky stars.

They were promised lucrative jobs in the Burkina be capital, only to be told on arrival that they had been brought there to practice the sex trade. However, they bluntly refused to play ball

Seeing that the girls were not ready to cooperate with her, Balikis locked them up in a room. It was after one of them escaped from the room and alerted the police that help came their way.

According to Mr Innocent Agate, Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Oyo State Command, "the Nigerian embassy assisted in arranging emergency travel documents for them to return to Nigeria after their lucky escape. We have taken them to hospital for screening and they are HIV negative."

The girls have since been reunited with their families in Ibadan, Oyo State.
