Properties valued at several millions of naira were on Saturday evening destroyed in a fire outbreak at a cooking gas market in Kaduna North LGA.
An eyewitness said that the incident which happened at Abeokuta Street was caused by a spark from an electric cooker.
He explained that a shop owner in the market was testing a gas cooker while a gas cylinder was being refilled .
Although the fire destroyed about 10 shops, the intervention of men of the fire service prevented more damage from being done.
