Police chief orders deployment of anti bomb squads

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, has directed all state commissioners of police to deploy Anti-Bomb Squad personnel of to inspect all explosives in their armouries to forestall a re-occurence of Thursday's tragedy at the Motor Traffic Department of Adamawa State Police Command, Yola.

The Force Spokesperson, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Olabisi Kolawole announced the directive in a statement she issued on Friday in Abuja.

The statement also said that Arase has directed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, DIG Sontoye Wakama, to visit the scene of Thursday's bomb blast and ensure the injured received medical attention.

The statement assured citizens that the police had directed adequate security surveillance on places where Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs sare kept.
