USA Deploys Troops, Drones To Cameroun To Support M-NJTF

The United States of America is deploying 300 troops along with surveillance drones to support the Multi-National Joint Task Force, M-NJTF in its task of defeating insurgency.

President Barack Obama told Congress that an advance force of about 90 military personnel began deploying on Monday to Cameroon, with the approval of the Yaounde government.

He said ;
"The troops will conduct airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations in the region.

“These forces are equipped with weapons for the purpose of providing their own force protection and security, and they will remain in Cameroon until their support is no longer needed."

The American troops are expected to deploy to Garoua, a boundary town on the border with Nigeria.
