Independence Anniversary: Nigeria Police On Red Alert

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force are on a heightened state of alert to ensure the safety of the citizenry as the nation celebrates the 55th anniversary of her independence.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase on Wednesday directed
all zonal assistant inspectors general of police and command   commissioners of police to sufficiently deploy men and equipment to ensure a hitch-free independence celebration.

He urged Nigerians to assist the police to keep the country safe by providing useful information about criminal activities.
