Trader Assaulted By Abuja Task Force Charged For Missing Guns, Ammunition

An Abuja based clothes dealer was on Wednesday subjected to severe beating by members of the Task Force on City Cleaning at the Area One roundabout, Abuja.

The trader was a passenger in a taxicab which was being chased by the task force for operating without permit. According to an eyewitness, trouble started for the trader when the cab driver locked up himself and his passenger inside the car, thus denying the operatives access.

When the car was eventually forced open, the task force descended on the trader, giving him the beating of his life. Abujacitynews is yet to find out why the operatives chose to attack the passenger rather than the driver who broke the rules.

According to the victim's brother, Mr Chidiebere Duru Ashiloka, who spoke in an SOS message to Brekete Family Show, the task force has arraigned the trader before an Abuja court on charges of stealing their firearms and ammunitions.

The task force comprises of officers from the Nigeria Police, Civil Defense Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, the Prison Service, Abuja Environmental Protection Board, the Transport Secretariat aka, VIO, Department of State Security, and the Federal Road Safety Commission.
