Nigeria Is A Poor Country - Buhari

It is a mistake to classify Nigeria as a rich country. So says President Muhammadu Buhari. His reason is that the indices for measuring wealthy nations do not place the country in that class.

He said that when parameters like economic advancement and social services are considered, Nigeria comes across as a poor country.

The president spoke when he hosted the outgoing President of the African Development Bank, Dr Donald Kaberuka and some of his colleagues in Abuja.
He called on affluent and influential Nigerians to do more to rescue the country from economic and security challenges.

He also called on the AfDB to extend more support to the country in the agricultural sector so as to help her reduce unemployment.
