World Bank To Rebuild Boko Haram Areas With $2.1b - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the World Bank has pledged to assist in the rebuilding of parts of North East Nigeria affected by Boko Haram militancy with the sum of $2.1b.

Speaking in Washington DC after talks with World Bank officials, President Buhari said that rebuilding infrastructure and helping those affected by terrorist attacks is of primary importance.

President Buhari pledged to defeat Boko Haram insurgents who have killed nearly 15000 people and displaced over a million since 2009. President Obama also assured Buhari of his support in the fight against Boko Haram. It will be recalled that the US has committed over $5m to help in fighting the insurgents since Buhari was elected.
