Why nursing mother killed neighbor with a kitchen knife

Mwuese Ayom, a nursing mother and student of Benue State Polytechnic, 22, has been explaining to the Benue State Police Command, why and how she killed equally 22 year-old Terseer Ayua.

Mwuese who recently had a child out of wedlock said that the deceased who was her neighbor was in the habit of taunting her over her single parenthood.

She said that on the day of the incident, the deceased had been insulting her as usual, teasing her with abandoning her four-month old baby to go and sleep around.

Then they came to fisticuffs and the deceased beat her black and blue. It was in the midst of the beating that she reached for her kitchen knife and stabbed Terseer in the stomach.

"He came and started harassing me, threatening to beat me up and claiming that I was mocking him because he had issues with somebody in the neighborhood.

“The hot exchange led to a fight. He beat me and my baby fell from my hand. It was at that point that I reached for the knife I was peeling an orange with.

“A struggle ensued and it was in the mist of the struggle that I mistakenly stabbed him in the stomach and he left me and staggered backward and started shouting for help saying that I had killed him.

“At that point passersby and neighbours gathered at the scene, some took me away while some others rushed him to a nearby hospital. I later learned that he gave up on the way to the hospital," said the distraught young mother.

Forget about Chibok Girls, Boko Haram victim tells FG

Reintegrating the Chibok Girls into the society could be detrimental to the interest of the country.

This is the opinion of Hajia Aishatu Bala, an indigene of Bama town in Maiduguri and a victim of the insurgency who now lives in Jos, Plateau State.

Hajia Bala who witnessed the gruesome murder of her husband and two of her children said that the abducted girls have since been indoctrinated into terrorism.

“Chibok girls are not existing anywhere in the world, most of them have been used as suicide bombers by those who abducted them.

“Young girls involved in suicide attacks in the last two years till date were the Chibok girls, it will be a waste of time for anyone to be talking of rescuing Chibok girls.,” she said.

She also said that those involved in the Bring Back Our Girls campaign in Abuja could be acting in ignorance.

“If at all Chibok girls exist anywhere, bringing them back to Nigeria will even spell doom for this country because they have been trained to see the country as the land of evil men,” she concluded.

She called on the National Emergency Management Agency., NEMA to extend its rehabilitation programs to those victims of the insurgency who are not staying in IDP camps.

APGA, PDP supporters clash over billboard in Abuja.

Supporters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP nearly came to blows on Friday over a campaign billboard in Kuje Area Council.

The clash came amid campaigns for the forthcoming local government elections to be held on March 19.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN reports that trouble started when some former members of PDP who had decamped to APGA attempt to remove the image of the PDP candidate and current Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Shaban Tete for replacement with the image of the APGA candidate Haruna Yerima.

It took the timely intervention of the Kuje Division of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command to calm frayed nerves and prevent the situation from escalating.

According to Adamu Dogo, PDP Youth Leader in Kuje, the APGA supporters had no reason to remove the picture on the billboard, even though they erected it while they were in PDP.

“The billboard was mounted by PDP and the APGA people have no right to remove the image of our candidate, and put their own.

“Even if the decamped supporters of PDP were among those that mounted the billboard, the finance came from the ruling party, PDP.

“They should wait till after March 19 after the people have decided who they want as Kuje Chairman,’’ he said.
