Scene of Wednesday's petrol tanker fire in Kano (Photo)

This A A Rano Petrol station and the adjoining VISA HOUSE got partially burnt during an attempt to discharge petrol from a tanker in the hot sun.

As an eyewitness told Daily Sun, “ they were about offloading the fuel when the head of the pipe that was attached to the tank slipped off and fell on the ground which caused the fuel to gush out and explode in flames soon after. The fuel may have exploded because, at that time, the temperature was standing at 42 degree.”

Corporate organizations like Dantata and Sawoe, Gongoni Company and FAS Agric and Sacks reportedly sent in their fire fighting equipment to help the Kano State Fire Service to douse the inferno.
