The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has been granted the warrant to detain the spokesman of Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organization, Femi Fani-Kayode beyond the normal time approved by the law.
Fani-Kayode is being questioned over his receipt of public funds amounting to N840m from the N4b allegedly paid out by the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA in the run up to the 2015 general elections.
A source from the anti graft agency said that the remand warrant would enable its operatives to thoroughly investigate how Fani-Kayode got the money, what he used it for and who benefited from it.
