The alleged mastermind of the 2010 Independence Day bombings in Abuja, Mr Charles Okah has undergone a surgical procedure at the National Hospital, Abuja.
Following the development, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday suspended his trial to allow him time to recover from the surgery.
“In view of the absence of the accused who has undergone a medical surgery in the National Hospital, Abuja, the trial shall be suspended till March 10 at 11:30 a.m,’’ Justice Gabriel Kolawole, said in his ruling. .
Okah's co-accused, Obi Nwabueze is however to be remanded in Kuje Prison till the next adjourned date on the orders of the judge.
The judge also ordered the Nigeria Prisons Service to provide adequate security at the hospital during the period of Okah's treatment..
