4500 IDPs vacate schools for returning students in Borno

To make way for returning students in Borno State, a further 4500 displaced persons have been evacuated from public schools ahead of the imminent resumption of normal school activities.

The State Relocation Committee, SREC had before now, relocated 4,506 displaced persons to Bakassi camp in the Maiduguri metropolis.

The Nation reports that over 600 IDPs at Government Girls Secondary School, Yerwa, in Maiduguri metropolis were evacuated to Dalori camp and reunited with their families.

The exercise is in furtherance of  the state government's resolve to reopen all public schools that were closed down and converted to IDP camps because of the activities of insurgents.
