Five Boko Haram suicide bombers died on Wednesday as they attacked a security post manned by the civilian JTF in the recently liberated Mafa town in Borno State.
A member of the vigilante group which has been assisting the military in counter insurgency operations also died in the attack.
An eyewitness said the female suicide bombers approached a security post manned by the civilian JTF in Mafa, about 40 kiliometres to Maiduguri and blew themselves up, killing themselves and a member of the JTF.
Abdulkadir Ibrahim, the Northeast Information Officer of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA confirmed the attack, adding that five members of the vigilante group were also injured.
