PDP has no regrets fielding Jonathan - Olisa Metuh

“How can you regret a decision taken when everyone was there, the NWC, NEC and the national caucus?

“What are we talking about? Everybody was conscious of the decision; nobody was coerced into supporting the position.”

These were the words of PDP National Publicity Secretary Chief Olisa Metuh when pressmen asked if the party regretted fielding Goodluck Jonathan for the 2015 Presidential election as claimed by the party's National Conference Committee Chairman, Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

He said that Jonathan's candidacy was approved by the party's National Working Committee (NWC), the National Executive Council (NEC), and the party’s National Caucus.

“In addition, the Constitution of the party allows a sitting president the chance to exercise his personal right to run for a second term if he so desires,’’ he said.

Dokpesi had at a press conference on Tuesday said that the PDP made a mistake by fielding Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate for the 2015 Presidential election.
