As part of its ongoing investigation of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has quizzed the Chairman of Atlantic Energy, Mr Jide Omokore.
Sources revealed that the subsidy unit of the EFCC which is responsible for probing NNPC oil scandal invited Omokore to its Abuja Headquarters to answer questions on some NNPC deals. He was released after answering some questions.
Omokore's invitation by the anti graft agency is said to be in connection with the ongoing probe of former Petroleum Minister, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke. He was released on administrative bail after questioning.
Some key staff of the NNPC who worked closely with the former minister and some major players in the industry have also been questioned by the EFCC.
Alison-Madueke, some NNPC officials and three oil firms which featured prominently in oil deals are being questioned about billions of dollars worth of Nigeria's oil which was lifted to the detriment of the nation.
