Traffic Jams Return As Military Checkpoints Reappear In Abuja

Traffic jams were witnessed at various strategic roads in Abuja this morning following the reintroduction of checkpoints by the military authorities to preempt possible terrorist attacks on the city given the increased Boko Haram attacks in the North East of Nigeria.

At the Kuje road leading to the city center, the traffic snarl stretched over two kilometers as the soldiers on duty checked every car.

Checks revealed that other parts of the city like Nyanya, Kubwa, Bwari, Zuba - Abuja road, and Keffi - Abuja road are also playing hosts to military checkpoints in an effort intended by the authorities to keep Abuja safe
