For The Love Of Country : The Armored Cars Buhari Rejected

It is no longer news that President Muhammadu Buhari recently rejected the proposal by the State House to purchase 5 armored Mercedes Benz S600 Guard for his use.

However, what will linger in the memories of long-suffering Nigerians is the high sense of patriotism that informed his decision.

Here is a panoramic view of the armored Mercedes Benz S600 Guard which PMB rejected.

According to www.topspeed.com, "Mercedes says the two inch thick steel plate surrounding most of the passenger cabin can withstand anything from small fire arms and splintering explosive devices. In short, the S600 Guard has been certified for the highest ballistic protection in resistance class VR-9, making it the first vehicle to qualify for this class and the safest civilian armored car in the world. "

The S600 Guard is the first vehicle in the world to be fully certified to have the VR-9 protection. VR-9 is the highest ballistic protection class as of 2014. This feature is likely to make the S600 Guard a must-have for many heads of state.
