Only Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs with development plans will have access to the N350b earmarked by the Federal Government for capital projects in the second quarter of 2016, says the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun.
The fund is seen to be Federal Government's effort to affirm its commitment to fully implement the 2016 budget, in spite of its late signing into law.
However, Daily Sun reports that MDAs may frustrate the Federal Government’s resolve to implement the budget 100 per cent as only the Ministry of Power has presented its development plan.
The Finance Minister had in March warned that the economy stimulation fund would not be used to pay expatriate workers.
“We are already discussing with some of the contractors who will be paid these monies and the objectives from the overall criteria is how many Nigerians would be re-engaged. We believe this would bring significant economic activity,” she said.

See how Transparency International responded to Prime Minister David Cameron's remark that Nigerian and Afghan leaders are fantastically corrupt.
Responding to the recent comments by David Cameron, Cobus de Swardt, Managing Director of Transparency International said:
“There is no doubt that historically, Nigeria and Afghanistan have had very high levels of corruption, and that continues to this day. But the leaders of those countries have sent strong signals that they want things to change, and the London Anti-Corruption Summit creates an opportunity for all the countries present to sign up to a new era. This affects the UK as much as other countries: we should not forget that by providing a safe haven for corrupt assets, the UK and its Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies are a big part of the world’s corruption problem.”
The Presidency has taken exception to the remark by British Prime Minister, David Cameron that Nigerian leaders are fantastically corrupt.
The Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu conveyed the feeling of the seat of power in a statement he issued on Tuesday.
RE: Prime Minister David Cameron's comments on Nigeria today:
"This is embarrassing to us, to us say the least, given the good work that the President is doing. The eyes of the world are on what is happening here. The Prime Minister must be looking at an old snapshot of Nigeria. Things are changing with corruption and everything else."
