The Era Of Marked Money Is Here - Immigration Boss

Newly appointed Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr Martins Abeshi has warned his officers against corrupt practices.

During a working visit to Lagos, Abeshi told his men that President Buhari appointed him specifically to fight corruption in the service.

He warned those in the habit of collecting bribe that they could be offered marked money. He added that any corrupt officer exposed would be dismissed from the service.

“I want us to try as much as possible to stop these corrupt practices. Let me warn you that the era of marked money is here. “So, be careful. I advise you to be careful. President Buhari is spending a lot of money fighting corruption,” he said.

Abeshi also declared that because of allegations of extortion, government has banned Immigration officers from going to companies' premises to check expatriates' work permit.

Power Ministry Blames NASS For Outages

The management of the National Assembly is to blame for the intermittent power failure which disrupted the sitting of the Senate Ad hoc committee on the Power sector on Wednesday.

In a statement by Victor Oyedeji Deputy Director of Press, the ministry said the incessant power outages that characterized that day's sitting was caused by the internal power supply system of the National Assembly.

He blamed NASS for not using their standby generator

“NASS, with its alternative source of power supply, could have put on the stand-by generator for an assignment of this magnitude, so the problem is with its internal supply system.”

El-Rufai Alive And Ready For Land Grabbers

After over two weeks away from public glare, Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai appeared yesterday at a peaceful rally of labor unions in the state and declared that he was alive and healthy, promising to continue the demolition of structures erected illegally on public lands.

Following his absence from public appearances, rumors had been rife that Gov El-Rufai suddenly took ill as a result of his demolition of properties belonging to spiritually powerful people and was flown abroad for treatment.

After listening to the labor unions who came to register their support for him and President Buhari, El-Rufai reaffirmed his commitment to ridding the state of illegal structures.

‘’I have listened to your demands and I am going to take your message to President Buhari. I am happy to be your messenger because I am just your mere servant and President Buhari is the number one civil servant in Nigeria. He is working for all of us.

“As for me, and my team, we are serious about making Kaduna a better place for all and very uncomfortable for a minority who grab school lands.

“They said I have died, some said that I have collapsed. They said all kinds of things but look at me here today. No one shall distract us from our goal of making Kaduna great again. We must make sure they lose these lands, no matter what it takes.”
