In an apparent twist to the flexing of muscles by security operatives at the National Assembly premises on Tuesday, the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura has been booted out of office.
Operatives of the DSS and Nigeria Police had on Tuesday laid a siege to the National Assembly, thereby locking out lawmakers who had come to attend a scheduled meeting.
Daura's sacking was announced by Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande via his Twitter handle, @akandeoj.
“AgP Yemi Osinbajo has directed the termination of the appointment of the DG of the DSS, Mr. Lawal Musa Daura .
“Mr. Daura has been directed to hand over to the most senior officer of the State Security Service until further notice,” he wrote.
