20th Anniversary Celebration: Police disperse Peace Corps rally with teargas

A rally and press briefing organised by the Peace Corps of Nigeria to mark its 20th anniversary was on Tuesday in Abuja, dispersed by heavily armed riot policemen.

The policemen fired tear gas canisters at the Peace Corps members and journalists causing them to scamper for safety.

The PCN people had gathered at their headquarters in Jabi after addressing a press conference at their former base in Gwarimpa when the police stormed the place.
