Abdulraheem Nasiru was on Tuesday arraigned before the judge at Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly molesting his 12 years old daughter.
The 36 years old driver who lives at Daki Biu area of Jabi, Abuja was slammed with a one-count charge of molesting a minor.
The prosecutor, Florence Auhioboh, told the court that the matter was reported by one Charity Ishaya, wife of the accused person and of the same address, at Life Camp Police Station, Abuja on January 31, 2017.
The prosecutor said that the complainant alleged that sometime in December 2016, her husband inserted his finger into the vagina of their 12-year-old daughter, contrary to
Section 275 of the Penal Code.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge on the grounds that he could not possibly molest his biological daughter.
Upon application by his counsel, Charity Nwosu, the judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the matter till March 3, 2017 for continuation of hearing.
