President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the killing on Monday of eight persons in Talata-Mafara community in Zamfara State by a mob over alleged blasphemy of Islam by a student of the Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata-Mafara.
While condoling with the families of the victims, Buhari vowed that the law would take its course on the perpetrators of the killings.
"I received news of the mob killings in Zamfara with great dismay. It is barbaric and unacceptable. I assure that the law will take its course.
"My prayers are with the families of the victims. Under my watch we will work to ensure that there is no place for violence in the name of religion, ethnicity, or in any guise whatsoever," he said.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, a man named Tajudeen had incurred the wrath of the mob by rescuing a student who had been beaten to a pulp for an alleged blasphemy against Islam and the Holy Prophet Mohammed.

“no stone will be left unturned until all those behind this act are brought to book.”
