Unsolicited messages: Etisalat implements 'Do Not Disturb' code

Following the directive of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Etisalat Nigeria has implemented the 'Do Not Disturb', DND code that enables subscribers to completely or partially opt out of unsolicited messages and phone calls from the company.

The NCC gave the directive following incessant complaints from dissatisfied customers across all the mobile telecommunications services providers.

To access the service, subscribers on the Etisalat network are to send ‘STOP’ to 2442 to stop all unsolicited messages and calls or 'HELP' to 2442 to receive only selected types of messages, eg, sports, religion etc.
