Scammers drive Minister out of social media

Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Abubakar Sirika has closed his email and social media accounts over the activities of internet scammers.

The Minister told newsmen in Abuja on Saturday that scammers opened 300 emails and 10 Facebook accounts in his name to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.

“I want to categorically state that I no longer have a Facebook account because there are about 10 Facebook accounts in my name. I have no email also because there are about 300 emails opened in my name and seven twitter handles in my name.

“I do not partake in the entire social media platform like I saw one email this morning which is not mine,” he said.

Sirika stressed that it is not his practice to give out employment or gifts through the internet.
