27 year-old Suleiman Ibrahim who runs a carwash was on Monday, handed a prison sentence of one month by a Grade 1 Area Court in Kado, Abuja for mischievous behavior.
The prosecutor, Salisu Khaleel had told the court that the complainant left his Blue Mazda car with Ibrahim for washing.
He said that the complainant, Yusuf Kingsley of Karmo, Abuja who reported the case to the Life Camp Police Station on Feb. 29 alleged that Ibrahim drove the car without his consent and crashed it along Gwarimpa expressway, Abuja, causing damage to the rear.
He said that the offence contravened Section 327 of the Penal Code.
When the one-count charge of mischief was read to Ibrahim, he pleaded guilty and begged for leniency, promising not to commit the offence again.
The judge, Abubakar Sadiq, sentenced Ibrahim to one month in prison with an option of N5,000 fine.
He however, warned the convict to desist from further involvement in mischief.
