To check the intractable crises between farmers and Fulani herdsmen, the Federal Government has approved the deployment of soldiers to Benue State.
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom disclosed the development in Makurdi on Friday while administering the Oath of Office on the President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Cosmos Idye and a High Court judge, Justice Augustine Ityonyiman.
He decried the invasion of some communities in the state by Fulani herdsmen, saying that their activities had become worrisome as "more Local Government Areas are being attacked on daily basis."
"As we speak, the Fulanis have started moving out of Agatu to other parts of the state.
"What we are witnessing today in Benue is more than what happened in the North-East,’’ he said.
He added tha Agatu, Logo, Tarka, Buruku, and Kwande were all under attack by armed Fulani herdsmen.
