Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has rejected the new residence being built for the nation's number two citizen, describing it as a waste of public funds.
He said that the current residence, Aguda House is enough and up to standard.
Osinbajo spoke in Lagos during the Pastors and Leaders Retreat of the Fountain of Life Church.
He described the 6 billion naira already spent on the project as a misapplication of funds, noting that government would have to find another use for the building when completed.
“There is no need for a new Vice President’s house; it is a kind of waste; we are now in a situation where we cannot abandon it; it has to be completed and used for a different thing,” he said.
