N45.9b Fraud : EFCC Declares Tompolo Wanted

Ex-Militant leader and Niger Delta warlord, Government Ekpemukpolo aka Tompolo has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

In an advertorial published on Thursday and signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC said that Tompolo is wanted over a N45.9b fraud and as a result of two successive bench warrants issued against him by a Federal High Court in Lagos.

The advertorial reads in part; “The general public is hereby notified that Government Ekpemupolo (a.k.a. Tompolo), whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in relation to the offence of conspiracy, illegal diversion of the sum of N34,000,000,000.00 and N11,900,000,000.00 belonging to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.”

The last bench warrant by Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court, Lagos directed all security agencies to produce the suspect before him on February 19.
