Following the refusal of the Supreme Court to stop Senate President, Bukola Saraki's trial for alleged false declaration of assets, the Code of Conduct Tribunal will begin his trial on March 10.
Saraki's appeal was thrown out by the Supreme Court on February 5 and will be defending himself against 13 criminal charges bordering on corruption.
The 7-man panel of judges headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohamed, had in a unanimous judgement, ruled that Saraki has a case to answer.
The apex court upheld the earlier verdict of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal which okayed the Senate President's prosecution at the CCT.
Already, the CCT panel headed by Justice Danladi Umar, has served hearing notices on all parties to the case.
