Timber market fire burns down 20 shops in Lafia

A fire outbreak at a popular timber market in Lafia, Nasarawa State consumed no less than 20 shops on Saturday.
The midnight inferno is reported to have damaged properties valued at several millions of naira.

According to eyewitness accounts, the fire defied the efforts of both the residents of the area and men of the fire service.

The Nasarawa State Chief Fire Officer, Mr Dogara Dalhatu confirmed the incident but said that the cause of the fire outbreak was yet to be determined.
