News Agency of Nigeria, NAN reports that the wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari was at the Kubwa General Hospital, Abuja on Friday to mark the Christmas day with the sick people there.
Mrs Buhari said that she was at the hospital to comfort and share gifts to the patients, who should have been home celebrating, but rather found themselves in the hospital as a result of illnesses.
“I am here today to tell you that we do not forget you. We have you in mind,’’ she said to the patients.
While sharing gifts to the patients in the spirit of Christmas, Mrs Buhari was particularly touched by the case of Mrs Helen Agada who was abandoned by her husband after she had undergone multiple surgeries. The man was said to have fled the hospital because he could not pay the bill.
“I am not happy when I meet a lady who had several operations and her husband ran away and left her. I think men should have feelings for their wives,’’ she complained.
The obviously elated patients told NAN that Mrs Buhari's gesture would enable them to buy much needed drugs.
