The Kano State Police Command on Monday announced that it had killed two suspected cattle rustlers and recovered 441 cows and 81 sheep in Falgore forest in Doguwa Local Government Area of the state.
Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr Muhammad Katsina made the disclosure while presenting the livestock to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje at the forest.
According to CP Muhammad Katsina, the police killed the two suspects during a gun battle with bandits on Sunday.
He also said that the Special Anti-cattle Rustling Squad recovered 381 cattle, 46 sheep and two dogs in Gomo village of Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano State.
Katsina added that the police equally recovered dangerous weapons and a cash of N500,000 abandoned by fleeing bandits.
Governor Ganduje who received the livestock on behalf of their owners pledged the continued support of the state government to security agencies in the fight against cattle rustling and other forms of banditry.
