President Muhammadu Buhari has given his condition for possible negotiations with insurgent group, Boko Haram.
Buhari told Aljazeera's Mehdi Hasan that if the militant group could provide foolproof evidence that the Chibok Girls were alive and well, he would negotiate with them.
His words ;
“They (Boko Haram) have to prove to us that they (Chibok grils) are alive; they are well; and then we can negotiate with them.
“We said it and we meant it. If we are satisfied that the girls are alive, we shall negotiate with them.”
Responding to a question on whether he would give money or swap prisoners for the girls, Buhari left both options open.
“Well, it depends on the negotiation with the leadership of Boko Haram," he said.
