The People's Democratic Party, PDP has condemned Friday's bomb attacks on Kuje and Nyanya suburbs of the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, the PDP described the attacks as cowardly. It noted that the senseless and gruesome attacks which took innocent lives occurred just 24 hours after the country had celebrated her independence anniversary.
“It is time when the citizens and their leaders should renew their faith in the oneness and progress of the nation.
“The PDP deeply grieves for the continued acts of terrorism, especially in the northern parts of the country, where insurgents are still slaughtering innocent Nigerians almost every day.
“Indeed, this is not the way to go. We can no longer afford to continue to have our people cut down and slaughtered.
“We all, as Nigerians, must therefore close ranks and present a common front in support of our government and security forces in the fight against terrorism in our country,’’ it said.
The party reaffirmed its support for the policies of the Federal Government aimed at defeating insurgency.
