Barely a day after terrorist attacks killed 28 people in Maiduguri, northeast Nigeria, a female suicide bomber on Saturday detonated her bomb in the Dala Yazaram area of the city, leaving three persons dead and many others injured.
An eyewitness, Shuaibu Umaru told AFP that there were two suicide bombers but one was apprehended before she could activate her device.
According to the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, a member of the Civilian JTF was killed in the blasts along with four suicide bombers.
“Four female suicide bombers at about 7:45am today in the morning attempted to enter the Dala Ajeri area of Maiduguri but were intercepted by the civilian JTF (joint military task force).
“Three of the female suicide bombers detonated the explosions in their bodies immediately and the fourth one was intercepted but later died,” it said.
