A former Nigerian Senator has been detained in Saudi Arabia for providing misleading information.
Senator Hassan Barata who was the Chairman, Senate Committee on Culture and Tourism in the sixth Senate represented Adamawa South.
The former Senator is reported to have run into trouble when he lied to the Saudi authorities that he was a staff of Nigerian embassy.
Barata who was elected into the Senate on the platform of the PDP is believed to be holding an official passport at the time of his arrest.
President Buhari had recently ordered the retrieval of diplomatic and official passports from those who were not supposed to hold them.
