Odion Ighalo's 59th minute strike was enough to fetch 10-man Watford all three points against previously unbeaten Swansea.
The entertaining encounter saw Watford go one man down in the 65th minute when Valon Behrami's careless tackle on Andre Ayew fetched him a straight red card.
