Military Authorities Ban Use Of Horses In Borno

Following the recent resort to the use of horses for attacks by Boko Haram militants, military authorities have banned the use of horses in the entire Borno State.

According to military spokesman, Col Tukur Gusau,
“Military authorities have banned the use of horses in the entire Borno state to stave off Boko Haram terrorist attacks. "

With pressure from the military intensifying against them, the militants have in past few weeks resorted to horseback attacks.

It is reported that the Shehu of Borno has expressed his support for the ban by instructing his traditional chiefs and subjects to comply with it.
