President Muhammadu Buhari's much anticipated visit to Cross River State for the groundbreaking ceremony of a 260km dual carriage way has been put on hold.
Mr Christian Ita, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ben Ayade told newsmen on Thursday that the information was conveyed to the governor through a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Abba Kyari.
He said that the Presidency attributed the suspension of the visit to a letter written to the President by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Environment, Nana Fatima Mede which indicated that the proposed dual carriage way would affect the Cross River National Park.
