President Muhammadu Buhari said on Tuesday that his government plans to review the Nigerian foreign missions to know which ones are really necessary.
The president spoke in Abuja after a meeting with Ambassador Bulus Lolo, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He said that the committee to carry out the review is already in the works.
Buhari said that the committee will determine how many foreign missions Nigeria needs to have in order to maintain appropriate standards.
"Let's keep only what we can manage. We can't afford much for now. There's no point in pretending, ’’ he said.
