CBC reports that medical marijuana patients in Canada can now take the substance in any form they like including smoking, baking etc.
The report says that cannabis oil can be extracted and baked into food products like cookies.
In a case between the government and Mr Owen Smith of the Cannabis Buyers Club of Canada, a judge in British Columbia declared restricting people to dried marijuana for medical reasons "null and void". He ordered the government to change the laws around extracting marijuana.
Mr Smith had been caught baking 200 marijuana cookies.
Canadians who qualify to use medical marijuana can now have the substance infused into products like tea and cookies. However, only physicians can decide who is eligible to use it.
Medical marijuana is used in the treatment of ailments like Crohn's disease, seizures, HIV and nausea.
