Army arrests 20 armed bandits along Abuja road.

Twenty suspected armed bandits have been arrested by troops of the Nigeria army along Keffi - Abuja road in Nassarawa State.

Abujacitynews learned that the suspects were on their way to Abuja for a supposed meeting of National Hunters Association when they were intercepted.

Items recovered from them included 17 locally made guns, 2 locally made pistols, 1 locally made knife, 3 cutlasses, 1 bow, 38 arrows and 135 cartridges.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu confirmed the development in a press release on Saturday.

Abductors free Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye has been released by the unknown men who abducted him on Thursday as he was on his way to Kogi State for a court hearing.

The lawmaker disclosed this himself in a twitter post on Friday morning.

Dino Melaye abducted?

Senator Dino Melaye has reportedly been abducted by unknown gunmen.

Senator Ben Murray Bruce said in a tweet on Thursday that he was informed of the development by Dino's brother, Moses.

@dino_melaye ’s brother, that Dino has been abducted by unknown persons in a Toyota Sienna that blocked their car and overpowered them on their way to Kogi to answer to Dino’s court case. Lets be on the watch out. Will keep you updated.

President Buhari, IGP Idris in closed door meeting

Inspector- General of Police, Ibrahim Idris on Tuesday, met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting which was held behind closed doors started a few hours after security operatives began a siege on the Abuja homes of Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Deputy Senate President,  Ike Ekweremadu.

The subject matter of the meeting was not disclosed to State House correspondents.

Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS and men of the Nigeria Police Force in the early hours of Tuesday laid siege to the Abuja homes of Senate President,  Dr Bukola Saraki and Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu .

The team which stormed the Apo Legislative Quarters home of Ekweremadu is said to include operatives of the EFCC.
