Army begin small arms championship in Camp Zero (photo)
It was a landmark event on Monday as Nigerian Army kicked off its Small Arms Championship at Camp Zero in Sambisa Forest, Borno State.

Governor's son to be arraigned for manslaughter
Khali Al-Makura, a son of Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura will soon have his day in court for causing the death of a JSS II student, Amos Ovyeh.
The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, Mr . Abubakar Sadiq-Bello disclosed this in a telephone interview with Northern City News on Tuesday.
The governor's son allegedly knocked down the JSS II student of Government Science School, Lafia with his car on Sunday night while he was going to buy batteries for his torchlight.
The suspect is still in police custody and his car is at the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department. As soon as investigation is concluded, he will be charged to court,” Sadiq-Bello said.
Police arrest fake cripple for street begging, criminal activities
An able bodied man, who had been posing as a cripple for over two years was on Monday, nabbed by men of the Kano State Police Command policemen near the headquarters of Kano Foundation after a tip-off.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Zone I, DSP Samba Sokoto, while disclosed this to journalists in Kano on Tuesday , said the man was involved in criminal activities within the city of Kano.
He added that the suspect had also been operating as a street beggar before some vigilant residents of the area reported him to the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG, Zone 1, Kano.
“We got the information about the suspect but when our men arrested him, he was found to be physically fit without any deformity,” he said.
Gov Ortom's convoy in road accident
The convoy of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State was on Tuesday involved in a traffic accident when a commercial Carina ll Toyota car rammed into the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ bus which was traveling with him.
Although no life was lost in the incident, one of the occupants of the Carina car who sustained head injuries was taken to hospital on the orders of the governor.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor , Mr Terver Akase confirmed that the accident happened at about 4:30 pm between Abakwa and Adi in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State..
Police seize N33m fake drugs in Kano
The Kano State Police Command on Monday intercepted a consignment of controlled and substandard drugs valued at over N33 million naira.
The seized controlled drugs included diazepam , fortwin injection and neomaline while the substandard drugs are Ibuprofen tablets, Quinine , Coartem, among others, all valued at about N33, 039, 200.
