Committee clerk slumps, dies in National Assembly
Tragedy tragedy visited the National Assembly on Monday as a senior management staff of the legislature, Mr Mohammed Shuaibu , slumped and died shortly after he resumed the day's work.
The deceased was the Clerk to the House of Representatives Committee on Agricultural Production Services, and was said to have slumped after complaining of some discomfort.
A shocked colleague of the deceased said that his death was a surprise because he had driven himself to the office that morning.

Benue Gov gives herdsmen 48 hours to leave LGA
Following the weekend attack on Tombo-Mbalagh community in which 8 people have been confirmed dead, GH the Governor of Benue State, Mr Samuel Ortom has given Fulani herdsmen 24 hours to leave Buruku Local Government Area.
During his visit to the community on Monday, Ortom said that the herdsmen must leave since they were not welcomed by the unarmed inhabitants of the area.
Recall that Benue State people were disarmed through the amnesty programme executed by the Ortom administration in 2015.

Military recovers 211 hostages, 11 bicycles from Boko Haram terrorists
Troops of 22 Brigade Garrison on clearance duty under Operation Lafiya Dole on Saturday rescued 211 civilians held captive by Boko Haram terrorists at Cingal Murye and Maja villages in Northern Borno.
The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman said in a statement on Sunday that one insurgent was neutralised while 11 bicycles were recovered from the fleeing terrorists.
“In addition, the patrol team escorted two heavy duty trucks and 18 pickup vans to recover Internally Displaced Persons’ food stuff from Mala Maja,’’ he added.
