Vulnerable women making more and more babies in IDP camps

Buhari advises against self medication

Amid the euphoria of his safe return to the country Friday after his long medical vacation in the United Kingdom, President Muhammadu Buhari has advised Nigerians against self medication.

“I think one of our terrible things is self-drug administration.

“I can’t remember this drug that Nigerians take so much, very common,” he told an audience that included Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other top government officials on Friday.

“We have to trust our doctors more and trust ourselves more 

“Over there, they only take drugs when it is absolutely necessary. They don’t just swallow everything,” he added.

Osinbajo to continue as Acting President (PMB)

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said he would not resume power immediately but instead allow his VP Osinbajo to continue as Acting President.

Buhari returned to the country Friday after his 51 days  medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

Hinting that he still needed more time to rest, Buhari said that he  “came back towards the weekend, so that the Vice President will continue and I will continue to rest.”

He however didn't give a timeline as to how long Osinbajo would be in that position.

With or without me, Nigeria will continue, says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday told a gathering of government officials that Nigeria would continue even without him.

The President also remarked that he had never been this sick all his life.

“I couldn’t recall being so sick since I was a young man , including in the military with its ups and downs,” he said.

He did not disclose the nature of his ailment but only made reference to blood transfusions.
