As events unfolded during Saturday's attempted coup in which over 60 persons were killed, Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyema urged Nigerians in Turkey to stay safe, calm and law abiding as the Federal Government was monitoring events there.
He expressed FG's goodwill to the Turkish people.

Senator Dino Melaye flew into Lagos on Saturday, July 16, 2016 and headed straight for Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, where the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has his residence.
Dino Melaye’s visit to Bourdilon is apparently to dare the lion in his den, having been threatened by some Tinubu loyalists in Lagos.

Fire razes 44 shops at Kano GSM market

About 44 shops were gutted by fire at the Farm Centre GSM market in Kano metropolis on Friday on Friday evening.
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN reports that the fire which consumed mobile phones and other valuables valued at several millions of naira started sometime after 5pm when most traders had closed for the day.
Eyewitnesses said that the inferno was caused by a spark from the public power supply.
